Barcode Generator

Create product barcodes easily.

When to generate a barcode

Product labels and stock-tracking numbers need to be scannable. Pick the wrong format and the scanner simply won't read it.

This tool produces CODE128, EAN-13, CODE39, and ITF-14 barcodes, downloadable as SVG so they stay sharp at any size.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter the value for the barcode.
  2. 2Choose a format. CODE128 is the safe default if you're unsure.
  3. 3Press "Create barcode" to see the preview.
  4. 4Download the SVG and test it with a real scanner.

Common questions

It says my value doesn't fit the format.
Each format has its own rules. EAN-13 needs 12 to 13 digits and ITF-14 needs 14. For free-form values, use CODE128.
Which format should I pick?
CODE128 works well for internal stock numbers. For products sold in shops, use EAN-13 — but the number must be one officially issued to you, not invented.
Why SVG rather than an image?
Barcodes depend on precise bar widths. SVG scales up without the bars blurring, which keeps printed labels readable.
My printed barcode won't scan.
Usually it was printed too small, or without enough white space on either side. Increase the size, keep the margins clear, and watch out for glare on glossy label stock.
