When to turn Word into PDF
Send a CV or a contract as a Word file and the layout shifts to match the fonts and margins on the recipient's machine. A carefully fitted one-pager routinely arrives as two pages.
A PDF freezes what you saw. This tool sends your file to our conversion server, where LibreOffice does the work, then hands back the PDF and deletes both copies.
How to use it

Common questions
- Does this one stay in my browser too?
- No. This tool sends your file to our conversion server, because a browser cannot convert Word documents on its own. Both the original and the result are deleted as soon as the conversion finishes.
- The fonts and line breaks differ slightly from the original.
- Conversion uses LibreOffice, which does not handle fonts in exactly the same way Microsoft Word does. Fonts the server lacks get substituted, and that can push line breaks a line or two. Structure — tables, bullets, headings — generally survives.
- Will Korean, Japanese or Chinese text survive?
- Yes. The conversion server has CJK fonts installed.
- Can it read .hwp files?
- No. LibreOffice cannot open Hangul Word Processor files properly. Export a PDF from that program directly, or save as .docx first.
- Is there a size limit?
- 4MB. Text documents are usually a few hundred KB. If yours is heavy with images, compress the pictures in Word before saving.
