When to split a PDF
Sometimes one scan holds several documents, or you need just a few pages from a long file. Sending the whole thing burdens the other person — and leaves you explaining which pages matter.
Split PDF lets you pull out the pages you need into a new file, or break every page into its own PDF. That also stays in the browser.
How to use it
- 1Upload one PDF. If it’s locked, enter the password.
- 2To keep only some pages, select them in the preview or type a range — for example 1-3, 7.
- 3Download the selection as one PDF, or split every page into separate files packed in a ZIP.
- 4Open the result once and check that you got what you meant to send.
Common questions
- Is my file stored on a server?
- No. Splitting and extracting happen only in the browser. Nothing is left behind on our servers.
- Can I split a password-protected PDF?
- Yes, if you know the password. Enter it after upload and you can read and split the pages.
- What’s the difference between extract and split all?
- Extract gathers the pages you chose into one PDF. Split all makes a file per page and zips them. Use extract when you’re sending a portion; use split all when you want each page on its own.
- How are page numbers counted?
- The first page on screen is page 1. That may not match a printed footer, so trust the preview when you select.
